- Give something to yourself – There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to something nice sometimes. We are most responsible for taking care of ourselves first. Whether you go out for a golf game, spa day, or a movie matinee, being extra kind to yourself is important.
- Surround yourself with love – Plan something with friends or family that care about you. If you have kids, take them out for a Valentine’s day date. Remind yourself that while one relationship might have fallen apart, there are still some good ones left in your life.
- Give back – Others are alone during this time. Volunteer to visit someone in a nursing home, a homeless shelter, or with kids. Being around others and giving back can be a great cure all for the Valentine’s Day blues.
