Lani’s Knowledge of the Law was Instrumental in Prevailing in a Situation that Appeared to be a Lost Cause from the Onset.

I must have seen four attorneys over the previous two weeks, some very expensive, who clearly did not understand the issues that the case turned on. Family law cases often require a deft touch approach and a lot of knowledge of the laws (old & new). When we got to court, Lani quietly took charge and led the negotiations with opposing council. I let her know where my boundaries were and what was flexible. Additionally, her knowledge of the law was instrumental in prevailing in a situation that appeared to be a lost cause from the onset. It Is Possible to Remove Stress from a Divorce.

First and foremost, I found that I had a lot to learn about the divorce mediation process. I did not exactly know what the role of the mediator was or if we would still have to go to Court. However, after taking this route, I now know how collaborative the process can actually be, and that it is possible to remove stress from a divorce. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult the process might have been without going through divorce mediation. Lani and Pamchal were phenomenal. They were enthusiastic and positive, yet still very direct with the subject matter and knowledgeable of the community property issues we had to deal with. My ex and I had three mediation sessions with them, and Lani and Pamchal were really in sync working together. The earlier reviewer was absolutely right – they are really on top of things in their communications. They prepared all of our documents for us, and were always available if we had any questions or comments about the wording. Again, I can’t imagine how expensive or stressful the process might have been if we had went to court, or had to pay attorneys by the hour, or had to write up our own court documents. Lani and Pamchal at the Center for Mediated Divorce made the process better in every way.
